Jo from Sheffield was such a big help in choosing the new name of the soon-to-be-not-Pipples, she got to choose one to go and live with her.

She chose Barnaby.
The rest of the soon-to-be-not-Pipples and Flossie and I are busy making party hats and biscuits for the launch party of the new creatures!!!!!!!! We have also heard that some new ones are due to arrive shortly from the Woods!!!!!!!

It's getting VERY exciting here!!!!!!!!

Must go now, I think they've found the party biscuits!! xx

Patience and Naughtiness!

First, let me tell you, the new name is still being considered by the Lady Lawyer who is checking very thoroughly!!!

I know!! I'm really impatient too, now that we've found a name, the Pipples (or should we call them Thingies in the meantime?!!) are finding it very hard to be patient!!!

It could take a couple of days....so it may be best to just get on with Pipple life...or Thingie life for now!

Evie from Yorkshire has sent us some brilliant photos of the Pipples who live with her family.

And what adventurous and mischievous Pipples they are!

Evie tells us she found her Pipples taking a little walk around her house..... as you know, Pipples LOVE climbing so first they went upstairs.... oooh! that little Flug looks a bit squashed!!! But it's great to see them helping each other....

Ooh! I think I know where they're going! Do you? Look at Flora telling the others how to get up there. Be careful - that's a very narrow ledge!

Does Evie know you've found the biscuits?

Oh no!! You didn't eat them all, did you?! Oh you bad little Pipples!!

And so, full up with all those biscuits, they went to read about their friends on the blog to see if there was any news about their new name.

Name update newsflash!!

Hello from the soon-to-be-not Pipples.

The Pipples wanted me to write and let you know that we think we have found a good name but that before we announce it to you and the rest of the Pipple friends out there, the Pipples thought it would be a very good idea to run it past the Lawyer Lady who has been advising us!!

We don't want to change it and then have the same problem again!!!!

So, hopefully by the end of tomorrow, we will have some kind of response from the Lawyer Lady and we can tell you.

The Pipples are very excited!!! They LOVE the new name!!!

Sorry to keep you in suspense a bit longer!!!

Oh, and the Pipples wanted me to show you a picture of the party biscuits which will soon be available to buy from the Over the Wall Etsy shop if, that is, they haven't been eaten by the Pipples here. Goodness knows they have fooled the human children countless times already!!! Quite funny really!!!!!!!!!!

A bit of a shock!

This morning a letter arrived. A very small letter. It was addressed to the Pipples who have gone Over the Wall.

All the Pipples gathered and looked at the letter thoughtfully but didn't know what to do.

Eventually Ricardo, who is quite an adventurous Pipple, went forward to get the letter.

But who should open it?

There was a lot of discussion.....which went on for several minutes......even the Flugs got in on the act.....
until a decision was made....
Toby would open it as he was the best reader of them all.

They got into a circle to listen.
Toby read carefully.

"To the Pipples who have gone over the Wall,

We, the Pipples in the Woods, are writing to let you know that we have received news from the Chief Pipple in the Big Forest.

It has been discovered by some of our more adventurous Pipples that there are Other Creatures who have similar names but who are NOT Pipples, so after a lot of discussion, it has been decided by the Chief Pipple that we shall rename ourselves.

The Chief Pipple thinks it is a good idea if we ask for the help of our human friends.

This is why we are writing.

Ask the human people that you have met Over the Wall to help us find a new name.

Write back when you have found one.

Big Hugs, Chief Pipple."

The Pipples were stunned!!
Then, as one, they all fainted.
When they came to, there was general panic! They ran this way, and that, bumping into one another and not knowing what to do.
So, I gathered them together firmly, and told them we would all help.

If any of you Pipple Friends out there have a good idea for a new name for the Pipples, then please leave it in the message here or send it to pipplepost@gmail.com
The Pipples thought it would be a good idea to give a prize for the person who comes up with the best name. They have decided the human person should choose a Pipple to go home to them to live. The Pipples are now very excited!!!

The name must be new and no-one else must be using it, or anything similar. It mustn't sound or look like anything else. Good luck.

Arthur's Adventure....

Arthur Pipple has just sent us these snaps from his holidays. Arthur is a Pipple with Connections! and always travels in style!!

Here he is in First Class, jet-setting to the other side of the world....
Arthur tells us the service was fantastic - although there weren't quite enough biscuits!!

But he did get a lovely fizzy drink with some slices of lemon in it....
Hmmm, what exactly was in that drink Arthur? Are you feeling a little sleepy now?!
Luckily Arthur was wide awake for his trip to see the Sydney Opera House. Wow!!!

And what a cool dude you are in your shades, Arthur!
Here he is in front of the Sydney Harbour bridge.....aren't you a bit close to the edge, Arthur? Watch you don't fall off! It's a long way down..... Not really sure you need that scarf now?!
And then, he tells us, he met some friends. At least I think they were friendly, they were smiling, although Arthur looks a little scared of the bits of wood the man is holding! No, Arthur, he won't hit you with them. Better say 'Bye' now though.

*** BREAKING NEWS FROM PIPPLES AT LARGE ***

Evie has written in to let us know how her Pipples are getting on. She is the lucky friend to 3 Pipples (well, one belongs to her Mum) and a Flug. It seems in this cold weather they have been finding things to do inside so they can keep warm. Evie tells us:

'Hi, my pipples are busy on the DS, Flora (my mum's pipple) is showing Carla, Carlo and little flug Dylon how to play 'Wizards of Waverley Place!''

It must have been hard work, because a little later, the Pipples and Flug needed a break!

Here they are having elevenses!

Looks like they're having a lot of fun, Evie. Thanks for letting their Pipple friends know how they're getting on.

Lucky Lucia arrives in Australia!!!!

The Pipples were very excited to hear news of Lucia after her long journey to the other side of the world. Bec tells us,

"After leaving the cold snap in the UK, Lucia arrived on the first day of a heatwave in Australia, the temperature was 46 degrees C (114.8 degrees F)!!!

She had a big drink and a special treat!

She was eager to see how far she’d travelled!

‘Do the flowers smell different in Australia?’

After much excitement Lucia put herself to bed early – in the box of crochet and yarn! "

Ah Lucia, lucky you!! Sweet dreams - the other Pipples are very envious and are now dreaming of being somewhere hot!! x

A quartet of Flugs...

For those of you who saw the plucky little Flug arrive a couple of days ago, I don't know about you, but I couldn't help thinking that he didn't look very happy, what do you think?

Well, guess what?

Quite early this morning there was a sound outside.....and when I opened the door, there stood not one, but 3 little Flugs!!!

First there was Tomas,

Then there was Rosie,And then Maxwell,

You should have seen Simon , the first little Flug's, face!!

Now do you see how happy he is?

What a transformation now his friends are here.

And it's the first time that Flugs have made it over the wall ON THEIR OWN!!!

They did set out FIVE days ago, they tell me, so I've no idea where they've been! Flugs do not have a very good sense of direction, you know.

Still they're here now, and, as you can see, they loved having their photos taken!

Fun in the Snow....

after a good night's sleep, the new Pipples were keen to go back out into the snow. They were desperate to do a bit of sledging so I found them a tray and they had great fun down the slopes...it was a bit tiring for me as I had to keep taking the tray back to the top as they did not want to get wet again!

Then they wanted to climb the trees! As you know, Pipples do love a bit of climbing!

Ricardo was the most adventurous and climbed the highest....
Even the little Flug had a go...These two insisted I took a photo of them but - catastrophe!!!! Moments after this picture was taken, Toby, the Pipple on the right disappeared!!

We all searched and eventually found him at the bottom of the tree!! Luckily the snow had broken his fall although he was a bit shaken!

Then the little Flug wanted to show off his balancing skills on the fence.....

and the others all wanted a go! This might be the only time a Flug is ever in the lead!

Then it was time to come inside and warm up.

this is the sight that greeted my eyes..........

yes, a new group of Pipples had trudged out of the woods, and were coming across the fields in the snow.

And can you spot someone following...... right at the back? Someone struggling to keep up? Yes, look, it's a little Flug! At least I think that's what he is - it was quite hard to tell with all that snow....
The snow was very deep and the Pipples found it very difficult to cross..... one of them got a bit stuck......but Pipples are really good at helping each other, and managed to get her out quite quickly.Then it was just a matter of getting over the wall.......the little Flug was still managing to keep up although he looked a bit puffed out!the first Pipple made it to the top of the wall, and the others helped each other in the usual manner.....
until they were all up. Then it was time to knock on the door.......and when I opened it, there they all were.........

even the little Flug.......eventually!

A Fond Reunion and a Christmas wish comes true......

***BREAKING NEWS FROM A PIPPLE AT LARGE*****

We got great news today from Ali, Lennox and Aaron in Scotland, who tell us that the three new Pipples, Betty, Lupin and Duncan, have all settled in very well.

'As you can see they needed a nice long rest after travelling to arrive on Christmas Eve, so they perched themselves where they could on presents left by Santa.

On Christmas morn when they woke with Lennox and Aaron's gleeful noise, they got out of the way to spend time catching up with Trevor. "How are you all?" he asked.' (Trevor is the family's first Pipple, you may remember, and he had made a Christmas wish to Santa for some Pipple friends to join him. He must have been very good, as it has come true!!)

'Apparently Betty is Trevor's special Lady Friend so he was especially pleased to see her again. Lupin was quick to request a biscuit.'

'On Christmas night, full up on chocolate coins and biscuits (it was Christmas after all!), the new arrivals joined Trevor and the family in watching 'Doctor Who'. They were a little scared of the Master but huddled close and made it through the whole episode, eager for the next one. They were very fond of Wilfred.'

'Next day they helped Lennox and Aaron build their new lego.'

'They were very helpful, particularly Duncan who was thrilled to play with Indy's whip.

We will keep in touch with their adventures.'

How fantastic is that - what lucky Pipples to have such fun together!! I bet Trevor was so happy to see his friends.

A big hello from Olga......

We have just heard news about the lovely Pipple Olga, who has settled in nicely with Jessica, in Newbury, Berkshire.
Jessie (8) has taken to her really well, and as you can see, she is already encouraging Olga to try her hand at rock climbing.......

Oops! I hope that didn't hurt, Olga!

Oh, well done Olga!! What a brave Pipple you are!
Olga was very keen to check out her friends and family on the internet, and says a big hello to all her brothers and sisters.
It seems that Jessie and Olga have the same love of colouring things in. Wow, what a lovely lot of colours to choose from!

Apparently Olga's best fun by far has been "twenty questions". Olga seems to know an awful lot for somebody who has just come out of the woods, and she's very good at nodding and shaking her head.

Wow, what a lot of fun Olga is having - thanks so much to Jessica for the fab photos and for taking such good care of Olga, she certainly looks very happy!

A Pipple Christmas!

A certain little Pipple was very grateful to Flossie for making a stocking of her very own. And isn't it beautiful? What a lovely bow and look at those stars along the top - and all that jaunty red stitiching around the edge. It must have taken days, Floss.Well, look at you Peggy! Your very first Christmas at Floss's house. Look at that stocking bulging with presents! You must have been a very good Pipple. I wonder what Santa has brought you?

Oh how pretty!! Some lovely necklaces - you do like your jewels don't you? And look at all those lovely things!! My goodness!

A letter to Santa.....

Well, Trevor the Pipple has really settled in well with his new family. With the help of his kind and clever friend Aaron, Trevor has joined in with the family traditions and has even written a letter to Santa.
What lovely writing, I think Santa will be very impressed with such a neat letter.

Hmmm, I wonder whether Santa will be able to make that one come true Trevor - have you been a good Pipple?

You have? Well, you'd better wait and see then.
What are you two talking about? Biscuits? Well, I might have known!

You don't like dunking them in tea Rudolph? But you do, Trevor? Well, you can't agree on everything! But you both love Garibaldi's? Mmmm, me too. You'll have to share those biscuits if you get your Christmas wish, Trevor!
It's a good thing you had Aaron to help you post the letter to Santa. You are lucky to be living with such kind humans, Trevor.

First there was a bit of girly hair styling with best friend Merry....

Have you got enough clips in there girls? Very pretty!Then they played Scrabble.......hmmm.....what good spellers you are!!!

Well, Trevor the Pipple has really settled in well in Scotland- we have just heard from Lennox, Trevor's very kind human friend, that Trevor has had a visit to a Pantomime!!!!

How lucky is he?!!!!

Not only that, but Trevor got to ride on a bus too!! What a great time he is having!! The other Pipples will be very jealous!

Lennox shows and tells us what happened.....

'Look Trevor, you're high up!'
'That's it Trevor, settle down now.''That's what you're going to see Trevor, exciting huh?''TREVOR!!! Get off the back of the seat! The stage is on the other side!'

'Oh Trevor, your head doesn't fit in the bag! Even if it did, you'd get stuck!''There you go Trevor. Mind you chew the nuts properly.'

What a very lucky little Pipple to have such treats and to be looked after so well by his human family. Thank you so much Lennox, for sending us news of Trevor.

News from a brave Pipple at Large...

A little while ago, we heard how Selina Pipple was settling in with her new friend Molly.

Here, Molly brings us up to date with Selina's adventures!

Molly writes:

"My Pipple has been getting up to lots of things. She played some games....

and has been checking out the dogs......"

Looks like you've found a friend there, Selina!

But Molly tells us - "the black one, Spike, he would rather eat Selina!"

OH DEAR!!!! But don't worry, readers, Selina escaped by riding on a dragon!! What a resourceful Pipple she is! Oooh Selina! Don't fall off!!

Molly tells us - " Then she arrived at white hilly snowy land of sugar."

Hmmmm, was that sugar all out like that before? Or was that something to do with you Selina? Honestly, Pipples and food, they do make a mess don't they?

But that looks like fun, Selina, you could go sledging on that couldn't you?

A very big thank you to Molly for sending these lovely photos in - it's so lovely to know what our Pipple friends are up to. Selina looks like she's having a VERY good time. You'll have to watch her, Molly, looks like she's an adventurous one!!

A surprising and slightly scary visitor.....

I was woken early today by several bumps as some new Pipples arrived, jumping through the letterbox.How they manage to get through the letterbox is a mystery to me, but I suppose once you have come out of the woods, across the fields and over the wall, it's not such a big deal.

And there they were, sitting near the doormat, tired and hungry.

Two beautiful Pipples, Florence and Sonia (who is one of the very rare Fluffy Pipples), Dotty a cute baby Pipple, and two dozy Flugs named Donald and Norman.

I invited them to come down for breakfast and they made their way slowly along the hall.

....but can you spot something else.....something that had followed the Pipples out of the wood.....something the Pipples hadn't seen?

Yes, I knew you would see it!

Do you know what it is?

Of course, it's a Giant Snook but you knew that didn't you?

I was very surprised to see the Giant Snook here because as you know, they usually live down by the brook in the woods and don't normally travel very far.

But, of course, we all know Giant Snooks can be very temperamental!

This one followed very ssslowly, sssliding along behind the Pipples until they came to the ssstairs. (oops sorry, too many ssssss, I'll ssstop now.)

Well, when they saw the Giant Snook RIGHT behind them, the Pipples got very jumpy....and tried to get down the stairs as quickly as they could!

Even the Flugs got in a bit of a panic and tried to hurry!And little Dotty was jumping up and down with excitement! She had never seen a Giant Snook before.

The older Pipples had though, and they knew exactly what the Giant Snook wanted...It followed them sliding down the stairs with no trouble at all.....until.......

there! That's what Giant Snooks like to do best of all! Hug Pipples!

It told them it's name was Plum and said that the brook was getting very crowded so some of them were looking for a new home.

Ah....well, looks like there'll be some other Giant Snooks visiting soon.... I hope the Pipples are more prepared this time!

Some more Pipples....

arrived today.

They were all looking for good homes, they told me, having travelled across the fields during the night.

The light is a bit dull here today so we had to climb the stairs to find a good place to take a photograph of them.

All the Pipples were very patient, except perhaps a strange little Pipple called Spike, who kept trying to pick fights with the others.

I think he is actually a good Pipple, just gets little over excited!

They posed for their photos and then asked me how long it would be before human families could be found. I think they are all impatient to get settled in before any snow arrives.

I said I would do my best to help, so they can all be found here.

We have just been sent news from Scotland from the lovely Ali and her boys.

Unfortunately, they write they were "all set to send some photos of Trevor the Pipple settling in but then there was an 'incident'!"

Oh Trevor! What are you doing in the biscuit tin? Trevor, what have you done? Where are all the biscuits?

Oooh! Looks like Hamish is not amused. Did he tell you off? Well it serves you right.

Oh dear!!!

Well I hope our other Pipples at large are behaving themselves better than Trevor! I do hope he has learnt his lesson.

A visit to the cafe.....

Two of the Pipples, Merry and Peggy, have decided they want to live at our house. They have been very good so we thought we would take them to the cafe for a treat.

At first they were very well behaved. They sat there nicely and they were very polite.We ordered coffees and toasted teacakes. Yum!!!

While they were waiting, the Pipples caught up with some reading and thought what they would like for Christmas.They were very hungry, so when the food arrived, they were very happy.
The coffee was lovely and frothy and Peggy wanted to stir it. She couldn't quite reach so she found a salt pot to stand on. Clever girl.

Hmmm, now how are you going to get down from there?

Well, that's one way, I suppose.

Oh dear! Are you all right?

Oh! what are you doing?

No Peggy, that's not what you do with those!

Stop that right now! And tidy it up please! Everyone is looking at you!

News from a Pipple at Large

We have just heard from the lovely Molly that Selina the Pipple has been out and about exploring her new home in Yorkshire.

Molly writes - " Selina has been getting up to lots of things, she has been going in the tree to see the Christmas lights -

and has tried to get up the stairs."

Well, Selina has certainly settled in quickly, I always knew she was a bright little Pipple. I wonder what she'll be up to next!

Hello and Goodbye.....

What a busy day!

First Freya and Hetty had to get ready because they were going to a lovely new home.

They were very giggly and silly because they were so excited.

They had their breakfast, then got their labels ready and then the doorbell rang.

And hello! There were five new Pipples standing there. And most exciting of all - there were 3 baby Pipples!!!

The bigger Pipples had shown them the way and here they were! They all helped to say goodbye to the girls.

Freya and Hetty have a long journey so they took a jaffa cake to share and a book to read in case they get bored.

The other Pipples waved them off.

A bit of adventure.....

Now that the Pipples have been here a few days, they are getting more confident.

Orly the Pipple is perhaps the most adventurous at the moment.

This afternoon , he went missing. He was nowhere to be found.

The rest of us spent a long time looking for him. Then we found him.

What are you doing there?

Watch out you don't get burnt! It's a good thing the fire wasn't lit!

Now where have you gone?

What are you doing up there?

Oh I see, you just wanted to know what time it was.

No it isn't time to go shopping. Come out of there!

Then Merry discovered the mirror in the hall.

And spent all day there.

She was soon joined by Peggy. They spent a long time, just looking at themselves......

4 Pipples.....and a Flug!

Exciting news - last night, four more Pipples made it all the way through the woods, across the fields and over the wall...........and following them......very slowly......was the first Flug!!

They were on the doorstep this morning.

The Pipples had had to wait a long time for the Flug but they were kind and didn't want to leave him on his own because they knew he would get lost. Flugs are not the brightest of creatures. And they don't have a very good sense of direction.

The Pipples introduced themselves, from the left is Mabel, Miranda, Freya and at the front is Hetty. All girls this time, although they did tell me that some boys are on their way.

The Flug is called Arthur.

He searched around for a long time when he came in, looking for some wood. Flugs, as you know, love wood. Once he had found a log beside the fire, he stayed there for a long time, watching everyone.

The next time I looked though......oops! What are you doing down there? Did you fall asleep?

I don't think you do it like that! Do you need some help?

Oh that is very kind.

Goodbye Trevor..............

As the first Pipple to be offered a home, it was time for Trevor to leave today.

As you can see, he was VERY eager to be on his way!

It was soon time to get ready. Now Trevor, have you got your label in case you get lost? Yes? Good.

And there's a blanket in case it's a bit chilly. And a Jammy Dodger biscuit. Just in case you get a little bit peckish. It is a long journey you know.

So Trevor said goodbye to his friends. They were sad to see him go, but very happy that he was going to such a lovely home.

Now, are you comfy? Tucked up nice and cosy for the journey? Got your biscuit? Lie down then.

No Trevor, you're not there yet!

Pipples on the move.....

Okay, so the Pipples had a rest and, well, you know what Pipples are like - they were off!

Couldn't keep still for a minute.

This is where I found them - they just love stairs! The green and red one (he tells me his name is Trevor) seems to be the most adventurous. But honestly, the others are very easily lead.Lovely how they all work together. Watch you don't get squashed!

Now what are you going to do?
Oh, I see. Yes, great teamwork!Hmm, this could take a while...........xx

Well, after all, it IS that time of year.

It's getting colder, it's VERY windy and so I shouldn't really have been surprised to wake up this morning and find not one but FOUR Pipples on my doorstep. They were shivering after their long trek through the fields, but they soon warmed up.

They had some breakfast and then they told me all about their long journey, through the woods, across the fields and over the wall....

Quite exhausting.

They would love a little nap somewhere cosy, they told me, so I found just the place.

Ssshhh....... I'll tell you more when they wake up.....
